York College A Level Awards Evening 2011

York College hosted a special A Level Awards evening for students who excelled in their AS and A2 studies in 2011.

The event was held in December at the National Centre for Early Music in York. Glyn Jones, Assistant Principal for A Levels welcomed students and their families to the event and Dr Alison Birkinshaw, Principal of York College, gave an introductory speech. The awards were presented by Heads of Division from York College as well as Glyn Jones (Assistant Principal for A Levels), Hayley Anderson (Head of Studies for A Levels) and Yannick Berland (Assistant Head of Studies for A Levels). There was an address by guest speaker, Dr Tom Cantrell, a former A Level student at York College who is now a lecturer at the University of York and published author. A Vote of Thanks was given by John Short, Chairman of the Board of Governors.

Glyn Jones, Assistant Principal for A Levels at York College said: “I'm delighted to be able to honour such an excellent group of students who have all inspired and impressed in their different ways. They're wonderful ambassadors for the College and it is a great pleasure seeing them progress into the next exciting steps in their lives.”
