Identical Twins graduate together in Fashion

Identical twins, Laura and Jenna Sedman, made their parents proud when they graduated with Foundation Degrees in Fashion Design at the York College Graduation Ceremony, held at York Minster.

Laura and Jenna, aged 20, from Pudsey were brought up in a sewing household. Says Jenna: ”My grandma used to sew, and my Mum still does. My sister and I were always surrounded by sewing. After taking A Levels at St Marys School in Menston, Leeds, we both wanted to study Fashion Design and came to York College to study the Foundation Degree. We are looking forward to returning to York College in September to study the BA (top-up) course in Fashion Design.

Says Laura: “For the last two years Jenna and I have travelled to College together and we have lived and breathed Fashion Design, it's been great. We have been able to support eachother because we've each had an understanding of the pressures of the course. The tutors have been very supportive too. It's been a really positive experience. We have always had an interest in making clothes and selling them. In the future Jenna and I would like to set up our own Fashion business, there's no point in us both going into competition against each other!”
