If you haven’t already done so, it’s time to start planning the next round of training for all those who want to carry on using their vocational licence beyond the expiry date of their current Driver CPC Qualification card. The expiry date is not the same for everyone:

  • All those who obtained a car licence prior to April 1997 and have a C1 licence for 7.5 ton lorries as well as their D (PCV) category should have an expiry date of 9 September 2019.

  • Younger drivers who don’t have a C1 but who had their licence before 9 September 2008 (when Driver CPC started) should have an expiry date of 9 September 2018.

  • Those without a C1 and who passed their D category and initial Driver CPC after 10 September 2008 will have an expiry date 5 years after their pass date. This could be quite soon if they passed in 2009 or 2010.

Event / Course Description
There are five modules available and users must complete all modules to achieve. Each unit requires a separate registration and course fee each time. Should you complete all 5 Advanced modules, you can apply direct to BCS for an additional ‘'ECDL Expert' certificate free of charge. If you are aiming to gain a full level 3 qualification then the mandatory unit has to be completed last. This unit demonstrates that you can apply relevant skills and knowledge to develop a specified outcome, product or solution. You would need to independently determine, select and apply the necessary IT tools and techniques to achieve the given task.

Who Should Attend
Anyone currently working at Level 2 or who has achieved an ECDL Extra ITQ within the last two years.

Event / Course Outcomes
You will have a good knowledge of all of the Microsoft programmes mentioned above and the knowledge necessary to improve your productivity when using computers.

YorkMIND - On Track

Sessions will run at York MIND from 1:30 - 3:30pm each week.

The next cohort of the On Track course will be starting on the 3rd February and will run for 16 weeks, the course will include:
· Managing Mental health – external effects, coping strategies, introduction to mindfulness.
· Risk management – MH and the law, sexual health, drugs and alcohol, peer and external influences
· Budgeting, benefits and money management
· Healthy eating on a budget
· Skills assessments and employability.

Sessions will be made up of a mixture of theory, group discussions, practical activities, external agency visits and a planned social event. Young people will also have access to our 1-1 recovery focussed mentoring.

This course is open to any young person aged between 16 and 25, who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health.

YorkMIND - Theatre Workshops

Theatre Group
Through this exciting new project working with a professional local theatre company, young people (16-25) will have the opportunity to access 12 weeks of theatre and performance workshops, exploring the theme of loneliness and isolation. Group sessions will start on 4th February and will take place on Thursday afternoons 1:30-3:30 pm (venue TBC). The workshops will result in an awareness raising performance which will be toured around local schools.
This group is part of our Arts Award project, and young people will receive an accreditation for the completion of the project. In addition to group workshops, young people will have access to our 1-1 recovery focussed mentoring.
